What Is a Warmline?

An introduction to peer-operated warmlines and how they differ from crisis lines.

Warmlines are peer-operated support lines designed to offer empathetic listening, connection, and non-coercive support. They are different from emergency services and from the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Warmlines are often staffed by people with lived experience who provide a confidential and non-judgmental space for someone to talk through distress, loneliness, or difficult emotions.
