ABOUT MALU I KA ʻULU
The Malu i Ka ʻUlu program is dedicated to promoting mental health and self-healing for Maui County residents affected by the Maui wildfires. Malu i Ka ʻUlu translates to “shaded by the breadfruit tree” in Hawaiian and symbolizes protection, peace, nourishment, and growth. Just as the Pu’uhonua system provided shelter and rejuvenation, we aim to offer a restorative space for individuals to regain their strength and continue their journey with renewed energy and resilience.

Geography served: Hawaiian Islands - our warm line was created after the August 8^th 2023 wildfires on Maui, for survivors of the Maui wildfires. Many survivors have moved to different islands so anyone on any of the islands is able to call us.
